Back InStyle

While I love having my own site, it makes for a quiet office Christmas party.  That’s only one of the reasons I was so excited to be included in InStyle’s list 223 Sites You’ll Love in their current November issue.  It was so thrilling to find myself in the company of blogs I follow like Cannelle et Vanille while discovering new ones like Sprouted Kitchen.  The list also highlights great resources like ChefShop, The Party Dress, MeriMeri, and ReForm School Rules (the name alone warrants a visit).  With so many good shopping and entertaining options it may be my best virtual holiday yet. Hungry InStyle

A few weeks ago, I was very excited to give Michelle Hainer for InStyle, #85-87 of “101 Reasons to Smile This Season” for their July issue, which just hit stands.  Used to being the lone voice on my blog, it was a thrill to see my recipes for grilled corn with chili, green onions with lime, and pears topped with prosciutto and Gorgonzola, tucked into the pages with sky high wedges, gingham tops and the new Javier Bardem movie.  You can never have to many reasons to smile so I hope you’ll pick up a copy and also take advantage of the other 98. Hungry Birthday

This weekend marks Hungry Sofia’s second birthday.  In that first post, I talked about wanting to eat my Christmas tree (still do) and mentioned a bûche de noël but included no recipes or pictures.  Two years later and closing in 300 posts, I thought it was time for the bûche to have its closeup.  With friends coming over once again before going there separate ways for the holidays, I had the perfect excuse to make my site a birthday cake.
