I always thought a rice cooker was a ridiculous idea until I started living with a Korean women who would always have rice with most meals and I have to admit the rice cooker does it perfect every time. If you plan to cook rice regularly I think it might just be worth the investment.

Love the press release! I think I'm a good cook but I really struggle with getting perfect, fluffy white rice - this is very helpful - thanks! Plus I refuse to get a rice cooker - don't need another gadget in the kitchen.

PRESS RELEASE

January 26, 2011

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE SISTER OF HUNGRY SOFIA GOES HUNGRY?

This afternoon the sister of the popular blogger and food contributor Ana Sofia Pelaez of Hungrysofia.com let her own sister go hungry at their shared Brooklyn apartment.

Around 1pm Carmen Pelaez texted her sister asking what the serving of gandules was as well as if they had rice and how to make it. Upon receiving this text Hungry Sofia rolled her eyes and deleted it. “She can’t look for herself? She can’t just go to my site and look up how to make rice? Pathetic.” Carmen claims NO. She had already looked all over the kitchen and couldn’t find the rice. She would have gone to the closest Chinese take out but was feeling rather cozy on the snowy day and foolishly chose to stay home.

When Ana Hungry Sofia was repeatedly questioned about this incident she waved off the criticism by saying, ‘Believe me, she can stand to miss a meal.” For her part Carmen was too weak to respond with any kind of gusto but just added, “I know, but I wanted her gandules-they’re really delicious” right before fainting on to her bed.

Their two puppies kept Carmen warm until she came to and decided to heat up her trader joe’s tomato bisque soup instead.

Asked if she would press charges Carmen said, “No, cause if I do, I may never eat again.”

Hungry Sofia retorted, “Idiot
